In one line: Mr. V. Bugaenko was appointed Head of the Federal Service for Communications Supervision.       Mr. D. Milovantsev was nominated Head of the Federal Communications Ministry.       The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation developed a project management information system as part of Electronic Russia federal target program.       By the end of 2004, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation plans to launch the Small Business Information Portal as part of the Electronic Russia federal target program.       The scope of budget funding of events under Electronic Russia federal target program in the Kirov Region may exceed RUR 6 million in 2004.

L. Reiman stated principal tasks for communication and informatisation industry development in 2004.



Speaking at the enlarged session of the RF Ministry of communications final Board on Tuesday, acting RF Minister of Communications and informatisation Leonid Reiman stated a number of principal tasks for communication and informatisation industry in 2004.

According to L. Reiman, they included:

high rate of new capacities introduction on local communication networks, improvement of topology and increase of trunk communication network;
improvement of corporate management of Svyazinvest Open JSC, interregional communication companies and Rostelecom Open JSC;
issues of improvement and updating communication systems and state administration needs;
issues of mail, mobile and space communication development.

He also stressed that "state policy priorities in the field of informatisation have often been raised in connection with “Electronic Russia” FTOP, and all of them are still relevant in 2004 .

Meanwhile, according to L. Reiman, special emphasis should be laid on increasing productivity and efficiency of the activities. "The rate of informatisation sector growth is increasing, and we must create all the necessary conditions fostering such acceleration".

Among principal international tasks of the RF Ministry of Communications in L. Reiman mentioned:

conducting necessary events for efficient participation of Russian delegations in XXIII Congress of the World Mail Union;
the first session of the Regional radio communication 2004-2005 within World Assembly for Standardisation and Communication;
preparing and conducting Intergovernmental committees and subcommittees on cooperation with Cuba, Israel, Hungary, Norway and China;
continuing consultations wit leading WTO member countries on clarification and defence of the Russian position in the part of service sectors given over to the Ministry of Communications.
