April 6-8 in Saint-Petersburg will be held a meeting of the Information Technology Council with the RF Minister of Communications. It is planned to discuss the progress of elaborating the concept of ICT market development, as well as working out the concept of regional informatisation up to 2010.
At the previous meeting of the council on 27 February, it was decided to make by April a plan of switching state structures to using exclusively licensed software. It is intended to submit this plan in April to the Government Committee for counteracting intellectual property offences. The Council also took a decision to involve into the preparation of the plan some representatives of IT business and offered them within a week’s period to bring forward prospective experts to prepare plan proposals. The experts, in their turn, within a week are to draw up proposals that would be taken into account in the report to the Government Committee for counteracting intellectual property offences in April 2004.
